This is an essay review of the HBO TV series Succession (2018-present) created by Jesse Armstrong. The show recently finished its third season and a lot has already been made of it, however, this essay strips down all the fancy facades and sociological notions, and digs down deep into the core of our nature by posing the question – are we just inherently corrupt?

This is an essay review of the 2001 film Donnie Darko written and directed by Richard Kelly. The film recently celebrated its 20-year anniversary and I could not think of a better time to finally write an examination on this cult classic... my analysis of the film is more drawn towards the subtext which depicts more brooding themes of Adolescence, Awakening as in the sense of a “Spiritual Awakening”, and Anarchism, and how these interrelate with the mental health depictions in the film, as well as its time travel elements.

This is an essay review of the 2018 film Under the Silver Lake written and directed by David Robert Mitchell. An introspective stance from the male gaze will be taken to explore the themes and happenings in the film in order to render an intriguing assessment of how the film’s elements and messages relate to our everyday life and interpersonal psychology.
